Watershed Management Group

A Tucson Craft Beer Crawl recipient from the very beginning, Tucson-based non-profit Watershed Management Group (WMG) works to promote water conservation, restore flow to our desert rivers, create healthy urban watersheds, and promote green, walkable neighborhoods. WMG creates enduring change through community education programs, on-the-ground demonstrations, working with people to harvest rainwater, and on governmental policy work.

The proceeds will fund WMG’s River Run Network, a community of people working together to restore Tucson's heritage of flowing creeks and rivers - which means restoring the Santa Cruz River and its tributaries!

Up until about the 1950s much of the Santa Cruz River and its tributary streams flowed year-round, allowing cities in Southern Arizona to grow and flourish. Now our rivers, creeks, and springs only flow after heavy rains and for short periods of time. WMG and partners launched a community campaign in 2015 to restore habitat and surface flow to Sabino Creek downstream of Sabino Canyon, the most visited natural area in Tucson. In 2016, they expanded their campaign to restore flow to Tanque Verde Creek, which joins up with Sabino Creek and feeds into the Rillito and Santa Cruz Rivers.

Arizona Craft Brewers Guild

A Tucson Craft Beer Crawl recipient since 2018, the non-profit Arizona Craft Brewers Guild (ACBG) was established in 1998. Members are comprised of registered Arizona breweries. Associate Memberships are granted to businesses and organizations that have some relationship to the brewing industry.

Their mission is “To advance the understanding and appreciation of the Arizona craft brewing industry, and maintain the quality and image of beer produced through the education of consumers, retailers, distributors and brewers.” The principal objective of the Guild is to promote the craft brewing industry in Arizona by providing educational opportunities for brewers, distributors and consumers. Member breweries are encouraged to attend national craft brewing conferences.

The Guild acts as an open forum for communication between members. The Guild members participate in local and national beer festivals to make the public aware of the various types and styles of beer produced in Arizona. The Guild informs members of legal and legislative issues that are relevant to the craft brewing industry.
